Defining a clear path to English learning based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), an international standard for describing language ability. CEFR describes language ability on a six-point scale, from A1 for beginners to C2 for language mastery.
The Fox exam
The Fox exam is at approximately pre-A1 level. Any familiarity with basic English grammatical structures, and the ability to demonstrate basic English language ability in listening, reading, should be comfortable appearing for the test.

The Owl exam
The Owl exam is at the A1 level. This means that the test taker taking the exam will have a vocabulary of approximately 900 words and will be familiar with some basic English grammatical structures, for example, ‘They like …’, ‘I went …’, ‘You mustn’t …’
